The Last Hurrah

Maple Trees

The wood’s stacked, the leaves raked, the lawn mowed one last time, and the tools put away. We’re ready for winter.

But my Maple trees? They’re still busy putting on their last hurrah.

    Mountain Dweller, Andrew’s a big help with everything — except with the stacking wood. But that’s okay because I actually like to stack wood. I find it very meditative.

    Mary Alice, these two trees sure do. The rest of the trees are completely bare already.
