Extreme Sheep LED Art — You Won’t Believe Your Eyes!

What do you get with a herd of sheep, some LED lights, a few highly trained sheepdog and some rather imaginative Welsh shepherds? You won’t believe your eyes! Really. You won’t. (Make sure you stay for the fireworks.)

“We took to the hills of Wales armed to the teeth with sheep, LEDs and a camera, to create a huge amazing LED display.”

I’d say yeah, and then some.

Go here to watch an interview with the shepherds on BBC, if you’d like to hear more about how they did it. The shepherds claim it was “good dogs and good sheep”, not computer trickery.

WOW! I’m wondering, with a little practice, what my crew of pets could do on the hills of Kentucky! Oh, the possibilities! I think we’ll try it first with flashlights taped to their heads and see what happens…..

    Hee hee…..

  3. Karen says:

LOL Cindy. Yeah, I’m thinking I could easily pull this all off with Kiera as my herder, and with Graidy, Finn, and Wink in the roles of sheep. They already travel as a pack, and Kiera is perfect at splitting and gathering them. Hmmm… I think I’ll do my own YouTube version! hehe

Cait and her dog are just too cute, and I can’t wait to show Peggy the sheep-driving video. I’m going to put it in my list of favorite youtube videos.

How is it going with the gentle King Charles? Are the two herding dogs driving him to a nervous breakdown as they compete to keep him in line, all while the cross between a dog and a Maine Coon Cat looks down from a high limb?

  6. Karen says:

Hey Snowbrush, thanks for stopping by. Actually, Wink is the one who gangs up on Graidy. And Finn just likes to watch and cack. As you may know, that’s what Maine Coons do — they don’t meow, they cack. Kiera is our play police. She keeps everyone in line, so it never gets too out of hand.

So glad to know about the “cack”! I have a big beautiful Maine cat myself named Jackson. He never meows like the other cats, it’s always been a different sound. Now I have a name for it! And oh boy, he’s quite the cacker too, but it’s a sound I find very endearing about him! :-)

  8. Karen says:

Cindy, thanks for checking back in. Guess my server sorted itself out. Yes — the cackers! They are so very endearing. I have to say, for not being a cat person, I’ve really come to love Finn.
